Outer Zone Overnight(TM) takes a lot of notes on the multiple scouting trips we do in exploration. We do a lot of research on the places we go. We find multiple routes to the places we go. We select the places we go for a multitude of reasons, above and beyond just the spirit of adventure and discovery. There is a time and a place for sheltering in and hunkering down. There is also a time and a place to move, and even better yet, a time table.
All of the information we collect is reviewed, and goes into what we call the G.O.O.D. plan. In line with our mission statement, we do what we can to prepare and train people for urban evacuation. We cannot provide one’s personal plan, but we can provide them options, and the power of knowledge, from which they can build their own multiple contingency plans. G.O.O.D. is an acronym for “Get Out Of Dodge.” The term is used when we speak of frequency and band plans, time table plans, and evacuation plans… at least when we speak of our plans.
The O.Z.O. G.O.O.D. plan is a continual work in progress. We welcome your contributions. The plan in available to O.Z.O. members who request it, and wish to make contributions to the plan.
We do encourage you to carefully review the plans that are in place for the County in which you reside, as well as the counties you border.

Regardless of Federal, State, County and community based plans, you need to have a personal plan, and a time table, and share it with your loved ones. This is one of those things that really can’t wait, like a will or medical power of attorney. You need to do it now, or it may never get done.
